Dear Student,

As a new year begins at LEBC, so do some new rules regarding a very serious issue that affects all of you:

VISA EXPIRY!!!!

From the beginning of next term we will be implementing the following new rules:

NO PROGRESS NO CAS. Many of you are in or starting your second year with us. This means we expect progress. If you cannot provide evidence that you have moved forward in your course, we will no longer support your visa application. The UKBA rules are changing too and life will be tougher in the new year for all international students in the UK, if the expected level of progression is not achieved.
If you are studying at level 3, 4 or 5 you will need to have IELTS (minimum band score 5.0) or equivalent to demonstrate your English ability. Pearson’s PTE is accepted and has a fast results service, usually 2 weeks. Look up www.pearsonpte.com for more information.
You must submit your valid CAS request at least 30 days prior to expiry. This is so we can ensure there are no last minute problems that cause us and you unnecessary stress.
The standard College rules will apply and will strictly be adhered to: 80% attendance minimum and up to date tuition fee payments. We may not issue a CAS if these conditions are not met.

I take this opportunity to remind you that 10 instances of non-attendance will result in your expulsion from the College. We will notify the UKBA, Tfl, and the local councils if this happens, so PLEASE DO NOT PUT US IN THIS POSITION.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope that you are well rested and ready for the challenges ahead. It won’t be easy for students in the UK, only hard work and dedication will ensure that you achieve what you set out to when you arrived here.
